First thing Saturday morning I went out to a horse that had coliced during the night and it started out not to be a good day. Had to call vet out to give a good check up and give some pain killers. She was over the worst of it by the time I saw her that morning. I took a good picture of her good side that we had started to brush. She was mud from head to foot, her mane is knotted and that will take me for ever to get out!! I will end up roaching her mane. Thank god she is doing lots better and vet said to put her on a diet!!! Well, enough of that on to the next topic of today's post.

My son, Kegan, and his dad decided to make a home made kite to fly. They made it out of a horse feed bag, old fishing poles and used ?????

You got it duck tape!!! Some pink string we had and later when it wasn't going high enough for them, they went and got baleing twine to make the string longer!!

Here it is flying high! The guys had a wonderful afternoon flying the kite!! After all the hard work we did in the early afternoon they took some down time and had a wonderful time together!!! Dad doesn't take alot of time for play but he couldn't resist Kegan's idea and off they went. The wind was blowing all day like crazy.

Hope you all had a wonderfull weekend. We worked and played so, all and all it was a very nice weekend. We had friends over Saturday and family over on Sunday and it was a real nice weekend and not to much rain which was even better!! Take care and have a good day.

Run Matt, Run!!

I think that kite story is about the best thing I have heard in ages. So glad you got such wonderful pics of it! How we loved kites when we were kids....we made so many of them although nowhere near as nice as Matt and Kegans's
Glad Annie is doing better!
What a great story and pics of the homemade kite! It was more beautiful than anything you could have bought from China! And a memory shared they will never forget.
Your pics are great! I really didn't believe that kite would fly. I thought you were giving me stories~
Love you alll
That's one cool kite! How nice to see a Dad and his son doing something fun together - you don't see that often anymore.
Love your new header photo and all your photos :)
What a great idea! What - no baling twine to go with the duct tape??
threecollie,
Matt and Kegan had a great time!!
flowerweaver,
The homemade stuff is so much better than anything you can buy. Thank you.
Mom,
We wouldn't lie to you!! Ha
Deb,
I thought it was time to make a change and glad you like it! Father and son need to spend more quality time together!!
CTG Ponies,
They did get the baling twine, they wanted it to get alittle higher so they went and got the twine so they could fly it higher. We use bale twine for alot of things!!
Awww, you have such a beautiful family. Kegan and Matt are so handsome and cute! How wonderful that they pulled together and built such a great handmade creation.....that works great, too!
Baling twine...and duct tape. Everyone knows they always come in handy and no farmer should be without. heheh!

Laughing Orca Ranch,
Thank you and they are handsome to me for sure!! Annie is much better just to much greenery and grain. Vet said to cut back on the grain and she needs to lose a little weight!!!
