Taller than a four story building!

Past and Present Service men and women, THANK YOU!

This is the mast on one of the drills that the hubby uses at work. It is 78 feet tall. He just down loaded the pictures from his cell phone onto the computer and I thought they were pretty neat pictures!

I hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.

What you miss when you don't have it!

Well, no pictures today!  We had a storm again last night and lost the power around 8:30 and still have none so I am on the hubbies lap top computer that does not have my pictures stored on it.  This time we got golf ball size hail and not so much of the high winds.  We were at the daughters graduation when the storm hit and the son was home.

Thank goodness for the generator!  We have no idea when power is supposed to be restored and of course when you call you can never get a person, all you get is a recording and so who knows how long we will be out of power.

Hope you all have a good day and I sure hope mine gets better.  I also want to let all my fellow bloggers that the blogger has not been letting me comment on some blogs so, I have not forgotten you and I do look at your post but don't comment!  So, please know that I am visiting and as soon as I am aloud to comment I will!

60+

We sure had a doosy of a storm last night! No trees down or any other buildings but this one. I took the roof right off like a box and set the lid down right behind it upside down! It was around 10 o'clock last night when the wind came up and start whipping and next thing you know we had hail then the rain started and was blowing practically horizontally! I was up in bed reading and all of a sudden the whole upstairs shook like we were having an earth quake! I was just hoping our boat would stay up on the trailer and not blow over!

We are supposed to get another storm in this afternoon too, about the same as last night! Ugh!

Hope you all have a great day.

Mmmmm Honey!

We had three hives of bees last year and this year we are down to one.  The one bee hive had lots of honey in it.  The boys were munching on the honey that we took out of the dead hive box.    As you can see the guys weren't worried about dirty hands.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Very Board

We are going to put a new addition onto the barn for hay storage and we are going to have the Amish build it for us. We are going to saw the lumber for the frame and the guys started sawing lumber yesterday. Alan is standing next to the log pile and he is 6 foot exactly, so you have an idea on how high the log pile is. The bottom picture is the saw dust that we blow onto a tarp and we bag it and I use in the horse stalls! I like it so much better than the shavings I buy at the Agway.

It was a very productive day, we had two extra guys around to help get things done. We got the whole lawn weed eated and the mowed and some boards sawn for the addition and I did some weaving. So, a lot was done.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Tractor Day!

Well, today was tractor day for the Cherry Valley School!  The high school kids that have tractor's were able to drive them to the school for the day.  They had over 20 tractors!    The son drove the big 1066 and left this morning at 5:15 thinking it would take a while and got to the school by 5:45!  He said that today was the best day of the year.

This year was one of the years to have the most tractors, they got to park in the teachers parking lot too!  The principle was not happy but it was one of the things that has been done now for quite a few years, I will have to find out how many because I really don't know.

Hope you all have a good day!

Don't Blink

Well, that is the scene out my back door. We haven't seen the sun now in five days and I was real surprised to see it today! Supposed to get up to 80 and humid by Monday. I could really wait for the hot weather a little longer. From one extreme to the other mother nature goes. I will take it though, I am not going to complain as long as we are still seeing green and not white!

Hope you all have a great day.

New Ones

Well here is Trip, the first photo and Zip the second photo, our new bulls soon to be steers for our beef next year. We have two steers for this year already on their way to this years freezer meals! Never thought I could raise Holsteins into nice beefers but I do. I would really prefer to have Angus but maybe in the next five years I will be able to start a cow/calf operation. That is my dream for the future, we shall see, but it does give me something to work towards.

Hope you all have a great day. Mine will be spent doing check book and bills (oh, what, fun!) and then out to the barn to finish my saddle blanket and hopefully tomorrow I will be posting the finished product!

Bedraggled ?

Who knows if I spelt that right or not and don't care, you get the right idea! This is one of the new birds that we are getting to our bird feeders! It is a Rose- Breasted Grosbeak, and he is pretty darn wet and ruffled. I also saw for the first time a couple of days ago, a Baltimore Oriole! The hubby said last year we had the Red Bellied Woodpecker but I didn't see them and we have them back this year also! Pretty cool to see all the different birds instead of just the sparrows and finches!! Hope you all have a great day.

Sunday Stills

Well, went to get feed and ended up at my favorite store, Tractor Supply and got myself a windmill for the garden pond area! The next one is the wind, thing, a, ma, jig, and last of course is the bleeding hearts out by the corner flower bed.

It is pretty nice to be able to get out the pretty stuff for the summer! Hope you all had a great day.

Finally

Well, blogger wasn't working for me this morning and I have just now found the time to do a post. Played with Annie on the ground yesterday then went for a ride on her! She is the best! She new I was a little nervous about riding again and she took it right in stride. Felt good to be back up a horse again. It has been a year and now that I am able to be home I have finally found the time to work on my horsemanship a bunch! Today was spent up in the barn weaving on the saddle blanket, and tomorrow will be back to being with the horses. I found that it is so much better if I don't try multi tasking and just concentrating on one thing at a time and I sure get a whole lot more done when I do it that way.

Hope you all had a great day!

Inflight

When I was out taking my relaxing afternoon break I happened to see this lovely bird go flying by me and I was surprised to see it and I was in a hurry to get the pictures that I unfortunately was not prepared to get better pictures.  We had to do some guessing on what kind of bird it is and even emailed the pictures to the hubbies sister.  We finally decided it was a Harrier Hawk.  I hope that I spelled that correctly.   It was pretty amazing to see it.  I kept telling myself it was not a gull of some kind and I was right.  I am just getting to know some of my birds.   I was even able to see a Red breasted Grosbeak at our feeder one morning and those are rare to see!

Hope you all have a great day.
