Dinner anyone

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and to all my Canada bloggers I hope you are all well and surviving the winter so far!  We decided to use the big grill for Thanksgiving and did a pork butt and turkey out on the grill in snowy, winding, and cold conditions!   It was well worth the effort!  The meat turned out fantastically!   The hubby says we should go into the BBQ business.    Matt made the big apple pie,(it was better than any I have cooked!)  shhhhhh ......I don't want to let him know that, his head will grow bigger than it needs too!   I did the pumpkin pies though, and I have to say they turned out pretty darn good also!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

He's Back

Yes, the hubby returned Thursday afternoon.  It sure was nice seeing him after three weeks.  He brought us a present, that is if you like coconuts!  I love them, and even better, they were fresh!   He cracked one open and we all enjoyed.  The kids just happen to love them, also.

Well, just three more weeks and school will be done.  Hopefully I can keep my high GPA,  I have a feeling that macroeconomics is going to bring it down, but just a little.  I am getting A's in all my classes except for macro.  I am getting a B right now.  I have just one more test in that class left, and hopefully I can bring that one up.  We have it during finals week and that will be nice, because we have three hours to complete the test.  I have investments on finals week also, and that will be three hours also.

Not much of anything else is going on.  The farm animals are doing great so far.   They are calling for some nasty weather for the next up coming week.  Tomorrow we are to get some snow, not a lot just enough to make things miserable.  Then on Tuesday night to Wednesday morning some more snow is on its way.  I guess winter is defiantly here!   I was hoping the snow would wait until I was done with school.

I will try to visit my favorite blogs today, but I do have homework to do, so we shall see how far I get.  I will be catching up as soon as I can.  I haven't forgotten you!

One big happy family

I finally put the ponies in with the horses over the weekend.  Sirocco is still top dog (horse).  For the most part they get along.  Poor Scout is the lowest man on the totem pole!  He is the pony, not the mule.  I have a feeling I will have to bring them all in during winter because the horse shed is big enough but barely for four animals, I just don't think the ponies will get in the shed when the big horses are in it.

Just four more weeks and school is done!  Things seem to be going pretty well.  I will not be going further at this time.  I am going to try and get my weaving going and hopefully make a little money.  Won't be a fortune but if I can bring in a little extra cash, that will be good enough for me.

Hope you are having a great week.

Tree Removal

We had a tree out front that was dead and ready to come down before the woodpeckers decided to bring it down for us.  They also trimmed the one on the side of the house.  It is on its way to dying but for now, more is alive than dead.  Now we don't have to worry about having the tree and limbs falling on the house or out in the road.  Hope you are having a good week and just a little over a month and I will be back to blogging full time.

Friday already!

Not much going on here at the farm, EXCEPT........we had snow flurries off and on all day and they are calling for more tomorrow.  Nothing stuck to the ground though.  That is always a plus.  I can wait for the snow for a while yet.  Still not completely ready for the white stuff.  I still have to get the pond all cleaned up and ready for the snow.  We have to put up some plastic on the back porch to keep some of the snow off of the porch.   Always something to get done.

School is going pretty darn good, hard to believe that I only have just a little over a month and it will be all over and back to the real world.  I am hoping to get some weaving done before the holiday season starts up.  I seem to be in one mode and that is school, school, and school.  I seem to let everything else go to the back burner!

I think the hubby is probably enjoying that warm weather just a little too much.  I will have to keep reminding him that he will be back in the cold zone before he knows what hit him ;)   He was talking about going fishing out on the ocean this weekend.   Being as I get motion sickness, I am glad it will be him and not me!  I think I will stick to going to the movies on Saturday with the kids.

Hope you had a good week and enjoy the long weekend.

Barn door on shed

Our knew door to the calf shed.  We have an interior gate that we use in the summer to let in air and we usually end up putting a piece of ply wood on the gate in winter months.  But this year the hubby and son decided that they would make an actual door on the outside of the gate.  It sure looks nice!  Now all it has to do is fade to look like the rest of the siding!  Now the animals are nice and cozy!

I'm Back......for now

I am back, but for how long who knows.  I have been pretty busy trying to get through my last semester of school.  I am secretary for our Phi Theta Kappa, secretary for the Wall Street Club, plus doing studying, studying, studying!  I like my subjects, but the information is still hard to process and keep in this old noggin of mine!  I haven't even had time to do any weaving.

We are trying to get things done for winter, the hubby and son have been getting things buttoned up for the bad weather that winter always brings us.  We have the wood chopped and stacked, the stock stank heaters in, and the buildings winterized for the calves.  The equipment is all covered and stored for the winter.  We still have to get some minor things done.

The hubby is now on his way to balmy Florida for at least two weeks!  I sure wish I was him, 85 degrees compared to 30's and 40's, lets see.........I think I would take the 85!  The hubby would trade me places though, because he hates the hot weather!   He asked me if I wanted to go along, of course, I had to decline.  School is more important!

Hope you all have a wonderful week, I will try to catch up with all your blogs soon!  Don't give, Dec. 13 is not too far away then I will have more time to keep up with the blogs.
