scenes

I love walking the bike path.  We do see some nice things.  The only thing is that the highway noise is too loud.

Rain today also and colder and cloudy.  Pretty dreary but the rain is much needed.  I am not going to complain.  I spent the morning getting a sign ready to be displayed for the local engine club.  Tomorrow, I hope to get it painted.

Hope you had a good weekend.  I took the day off after finishing the stenciling on the sign.

work, work and no play, make me a dull jane!

We have been working on changing the pond and patio.  The first picture shows the ground that had the tanks in it, and when we took them out, left two rather large holes in the ground.  We filled the holes and will be putting new ground fabric down and then put blue stone on top.  We are going to put up gazebo in place of the pond.  We moved the stock tank with my pond plants under the strawberry arbor for now.  We plan on digging a bigger pond in the ground and putting in a pond liner this time.  It takes some planning to do an in ground pond.  We don't know if it will be done this year or not, time goes pretty fast when other things need to be done also.

I have been working on getting scarves woven.  I have around four of them done.  I still have a one more to do, then I will be doing some more shawls.  Then it is rag rugs, then towels, then some more scarves and so on.  I just hope that I can get enough inventory ahead for craft show.  I did get a good idea from a friend.  They suggested that if I don't have enough, I can always take orders also.  We shall see.  I need to quit doing arends during the week and get some work done.

Take care.

Grads

Not only has the son graduated from this college, so did our daughter, then it was I and finally the son.  The hubby is the only one who did not. (don't feel bad for him, he is already living his dream job!)  Hopefully the kids will be living theirs sooner rather than later!  Mine, well, I am doing something that I enjoy very much and hopefully someday will be able to make money doing it.

It will be nice to have the hubby home for more than just a couple of days. We were going to dig the new hole for the pond but decided that we have a little more research to do first.  We want to put in a bigger one that doesn't leak and looks nice.  We have been watching videos to get ideas.  Looks like a lot more work than first anticipated.    We bought a couple of kayaks so we are hoping to take those out also.  Plus we are having our favorite Aunt and Uncle over for dinner.

Hope you have a great weekend!

DC

This picture sure doesn't do this scarf justice, it is not as green as the picture makes it out to be.  I took it in lighting that wasn't so light!  I am doing scarves on my little loom, while I am down in Washington DC with the hubby.   So, while he is working, I will be to.  Plus, no interruptions.  I might actually get some done before we head back home.

This weekend is going to be full of getting our backyard pond dug and ready for some new fish.  Hopefully before the weekend is over we can have a great start and maybe even be close to having it finished.

Hope you have a great week.

Sara

Sara is getting bigger.  She is a joy, she keeps everyone on their toes!  Even the older dogs.

Getting ready to put the garden plants in today, the vet comes today also, and gives the horses their shots and check them all out for their teeth.  We may even get to the garden pond today and start on that.  We need to get the materials first.  Today is pretty well going to be busy day.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Things a bloomin

I think we went from early spring to summer back to spring in just one week.   We had a slight frost this morning, nothing detrimental.  The spring flowers look pretty nice after the long winter we had.

I am sitting at the desk trying to have my coffee and post on this blog, along with trying to keep the puppy entertained, so that she doesn't bark.  Now that is a way to start the morning.  The only problem is, that my coffee gets cold pretty fast when I am otherwise occupied.  I HATE cold coffee.

Not much has been going on.  We have planted the onions and radishes.  This weekend we will be planting the bulk of the garden and hope that the real colder weather is gone for the season.  We are supposed to get down in the 30's tonight but then back to the 50's and hopefully no 30's in sight after tonight.  Feels pretty chilly when you go from  high 80's for a few days and then down to 60's in one day!

We have lots of spring cleanup to do.  The son has been mowing and weed eating the last couple of days and doing a great job.  I am hoping that the hubby and I can get started on the reconstruction of the garden pond area this weekend.  I have all the rocks out of the area and now we have to put new paper down and then figure out what to use as a base to keep the weeds out.  We are moving the pond over a little and making it bigger.  Then we are putting more blue stone down and putting up a gazebo, (a tent one, not a wood one).   I am excited about it. Lots to do, along with getting next seasons wood chopped and cut, garden planted, clean up around the yard and farm yard.  Never ending!

The son graduates from college this weekend.  He has applied to two other colleges.  Has a job all lined up for the summer already, also!  I sure will miss him when he is gone.  I guess we don't have to worry about that for a while.  The daughter is going to be 25 and she is still with us.  She does pay for her way though.  Now days it is just to expensive to pay for college and cars and insurance and still try to pay for a place over your head.  We don't mind as long as she helps around the farm and the house.

Hope you have a great day.
