My kind of weather!

Hard to believe that we still have some awesome colors on the trees. Most of the colors are gone and leaves are falling fast.  Next week is November and we are still going to have 60 degree weather.  I am definitely not complaining.   We are going to have cool weather tomorrow and most of the weekend, but by Monday, 60!

Took Sara to obedience class again last night.  She still wants to play and doesn't pay much attention.  She does great toward the end of the class, and at home.  She is a smart dog, and she learns fast.  I have her sitting, shake, lay down, come, and heel.   We still need work when leading on the leash.  We are working on that.  Most of it is finding the correct collar for her to learn on.  It has only been two weeks, and we still have four more weeks to go.

Weaving is coming along.  It is hard to believe that I have two sets of towels to do, a shawl, and a couple of scarves to get done.  I am not used to having that many orders to get done.  I have to get back into the work mode.  Which means I need to get back out to my barn and out of the house!  I have my small loom in the house, I need to take it back out to the barn.

Hope you are having a good week.

Filled

This weekend was a very busy weekend.  Saturday, the guys picked apples to do apple cider, the daughter and I did a festival and soup tasting lunch.  Then Sunday the hubby and son fixed the old apple cider press and pressed the apples, the in-laws came for lasagna,  then we got the cider ready to make hard cider.  We only have around a month and then we will be putting our hard cider into bottles.   Yesterday the hubby had to go get a physical and then we worked on getting the farm equipment put out in the back pasture for the winter months.

The festival went great.   I sold a couple of scarves, and hand towel.  I also received an order for a shawl.  I have some major work to do before Christmas gets here.  I have two scarves to get done, a couple sets of towels, and a shawl.

Hope you have a great week.

Say it isn't so!

Yes, it is.  SNOW!  Not even enough to say so, but it is snow.

We finishes getting our wood chopped and stacked in the wood shed yesterday.  Now we will be working on getting equipment all oiled up and put out back for the winter.  Then some more cleaning up and getting ready for the snow piles we will have to make when it is time to start plowing the drive ways.

Today is going to be filled with some of the honey do list.  Go get Sirocco and bring him home, hanging new curtain rods and getting the corral gate fixed so it is easier to open and close, taking out air conditioners and hopefully that doesn't take too long.

Hope you have a great day.

Little holes, big holes

I wonder what has been chewing on this tree?

Shopping for the week is done! (thank goodness)  Now we have food for the next couple of days. (until the kids get done) It is hard to believe that you can go out and buy food and come home, then you go to get something to eat and you wonder.....what the heck did I spend all that money on?

Going to get cold this weekend.  I will be finally be bringing in all my houseplants.  It is supposed to get down below freezing for a couple of nights.   Only in the 40's and 50's during the day.  I am so not ready for the colder weather.

Not really a whole lot to say.  I seem to do the same things day in and day out.  Nothing much really changes for me.  I do the normal household things, farm things, weaving things etc.  I have been thinking about putting my stuff on Amazon Handmade, but they take a percentage of what you sell.  I don't know if I am ready for that.

Hope you have a great evening.

Nothing better than being at the top of the world.

The mountain                                              The Proof we made it
The panoramic view off the top of the mountain!

Another picture of the view off the top of the mountain.  So, yes, it was just wonderful and well worth the pain and agony of the climb up and back down.

Today was spent working on stacking wood, getting ready for dog training.  Sara and I are going to a training class next week and for the next 6 weeks.  I am looking forward to it.  It will be nice to know what and how to get her to behave.  All I have to do is the homework and make sure the rest of the family learns from me what needs to be done, so Sara doesn't get confused.

Tomorrow is my least favorite day of the week, grocery shopping!  I hope to get out of the house before it gets  too late in the morning, and that way I can make it back home earlier in the day.  Sunday we go and bring Sirocco home and then the riding begins.  I am going to start out in the corral and then once we are both back to being comfortable with each, we will go out back and ride on the property.  I have some wonderful people helping me with my confidence and hopefully I will get my riding back up to what it used to be.

Hope you have a great night.

Colors and things

There were lots of things to see on our hike, besides just trees, rocks, and my feet trying to keep moving forward!  The colors were just wonderful, especially once we hit the top of the mountain.  It was a wonderful experience, and if I would of been in a LOT better shape, one that I would repeat.

Rain today, not all the cold yet.  Supposed to get down in the 50's and pretty much stay that way for the next foreseeable future.  Which is not all that bad, yet.  I am not looking forward to the real cold temps.

Hope you had a great day.

The Beginnning

Mom, it will be easy peasy!  I am here to help you along.

We have you protected and we will help you to, dad, uncle Matt.  That was before we started the 12+mile hike into the Adirondack's.  As you can see in the background, we first saw the beautiful colors and the nice serene? looking lake!  BUT, let me tell you what, looks can be deceiving! More tomorrow..........

Yesterday was spent getting more stuff taken care of before the winter sets in.  Porch panels put up, outside ornaments put away, pond fish and plants put into the basement.  We are getting closer to having things done!

Hope you have a great week.

to be or not to be

I think Sara likes to think she is a person.   She loves to sit with me and play.  She is so funny sometimes.   I get up in the morning and take her outside, when she comes back in she makes a beeline for my chair and lap.   She defiantly has a big personality in a little dog's body.

Hope you had a great day.

Next

Here is the next project that I have been weaving.  It is going to be scarves.  I am going to do some in blues next.  I am going to do my first craft fair on the 24th of this month.  I don't have a lot to take but hopefully putting out my business cards and letting people know that I do custom work, will get me some business.

Not a lot going on, trying to get ready for the winter months.  We did some outside cleaning up and have been working on getting the word chopped and stacked.   I am working on getting my corral up to shape so that I can ride Sirocco in it for the first few days that I get him back from the trainers.

I am trying to get weaving done in between getting ready for winter and just doing the day to day things on the farm and household chores to boot.

Hope you are having a great week.

Hello

The rain has stopped temporarily, and the cooler weather has moved in.  It now feels like fall.  The horses even noticed and enjoyed the cooler temps.  I saw them from the window raising cane. I went to get the camera.  I didn't make it out before they were done.  I did get Scout looking at me as if to say, "ha, ha, you didn't catch us in the act!"

I have been in a pretty weird mood for the last week, so, I haven't felt like really blogging at all.  I took some of my plants out earlier in the season and the other day I decided to take the rest out while it was raining and wash some of the dust and other things that collect on them.  I will spray them with some stuff to get rid of any bugs that they may have.  I have that horrible scale bug all over some of my plants and that makes one heck of a mess.   I can wash some of my plants off by hand but, I have a couple of Jade plants, I would be washing them for ever!  So, I took them outside to wash them off.  They say that it won't work with rain water but I am going to give it a try.  With the slightly chillier weather, I am hoping that will take care of it.  Scale leaves a sticky residue all over the plant and any surface it is on, the floor, counters etc.  I had to wash the whole area that my plants usually are at.

I have been weaving the scarves that I have had on my little loom.  I had stopped weaving for a while then realized that a very nice blogger friend wanted a scarf and that I better get my behind in high gear and get it done!

Today is my shopping day, and I will probably get my hair done also.  The grey is showing through. :=(  Then back to weaving and tomorrow is the day I get ready for the hubby to come home for the weekend.  Change sheets on the bed, pick up the house (so, it can get messed up), cook a meal that will satisfy a hungry man, and so forth.

Hope you have a wonderful day.
