Hellion!

She is small, but boy does she have a dog sized personality.  She loves to annoy the heck out of the big dogs, they just bark at her.  Scares the heck out of her when they bark, but it sure gets her attention!  She likes to latch onto Jakes tail and he drags her around like a dust mop!

Starting to feel a tad better this evening.  Hopefully by tomorrow I will be a lot better and feel like doing something.  I have lots to do and don't feel like doing any of it.  I will get to every ones blog tomorrow and hopefully comment.

Hope you have a great evening.

Putting the Engine to work!

The hubby and son put a corn grinder on the engine and ground corn into corn meal.   The hubby begged me to make him cornbread out of it.  It turned out pretty darned good.  I now have a quarter pail of cornmeal.   They went and picked up another engine yesterday and that is the next one to get running.  Then it is engine shows this summer.

I am a little under the weather today and I sure hope I can get over this cold sooner whether than later.   It is pretty much all in my "head"  no pun intended.   Sore throat, achy and my head feels like someone has it in a vise!

Hope you have a great week.

I am no model!

The shawls are finally done.  I did model them and I am not the perfect one for the job.  You just have to look at the shawl and by pass the woman wearing it.  I did two shawls, one is just slightly darker than this one.  It is a blue and black.  I did take the pictures outside hoping that the true color of the shawl would show.  They turned out pretty well, I made them a little heavier than I wanted.  The next time I am going to use a little silkier of a yarn.  This is a heavier mercerized cotton. I am going to do another two shawls but do them in black and green this time.   Then I will be doing some scarves on my new foldable loom.  Pictures soon.

Not much is going on at the farm.  Just trying to get through the colder temps.  It teases us every so often with warm weather.  One day this week it is supposed to rise above 50, not much though.  Hope your spring is a little better than ours.

Have a great rest of the week!

Puppy Power

Sara is settling into her new home.  She is such a great pup.  We take her outside and she does her business.  She still makes mistakes in the house and in her crate at night, but she is only 8 weeks old.  We love her to pieces, the other dogs are still getting used to her.  RJ barks at her to let her know that, he is not to be messed with!  Jake just ignores her, and the cats will run away and hiss at her.  Poor thing just can't make any friends.

Raining today, and the snow is melting fast.  We can now see the brown grass and the mud!  Oh ya, winter is leaving, and spring thaw with mud season is here full force!  Not to say we are done with the snow.  We have seen snow in May before.

Still working on the shawls, hopefully before the week is out, they will be done.  I will be excited to see them off the loom and finished.

Hope you are having a great week.  Happy St. Patricks day.Image result for images of st patrick's clover

Dove

One of my favorite birds!  I love the noise they make, especially in the morning, when I first take the dogs out.  I saw my first killdeer today!  Oh, spring is on its way.  We have had a good couple of days worth of warmer weather.

I finally have one of the shawls done.  They are rectangle with fringe on each end.  I have one more to weave then I will be taking them off the loom.  I think I am going to do another couple but use green and black.  Then I am going to do a warp of rag rugs, then I will do some scarves,

Hope you are having a great week.

New Addition to the Family

She is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and her name is Sara.  Yes, I was a sucker and let the family talk me into another animal.  When I saw her face, I was a goner, so it didn't take too much coaxing.  The family knew as soon as I went to look at them, I wouldn't be able to resist.   We now have two house cats, and two dogs and one puppy!  OH MY!

I decided to wait until I had something worth while to post before I did another post.  I figured that I got tired of trying to find things to blog about.  So, I will post when I have something worth while to post.

Hope you are having a great week.

Shawls

This is the pattern for the shawls, they will have fringe on each end.  The pictures don't, of course, do it justice.  I think they are going to be just lovely.  I am actually excited about getting them done.  I haven't done shawls before.  Next will be scarves!

Hope you are having a good week. Tomorrow is Friday!

Hug your loved ones

Yes, it is doing it again.....snowing.  Later tonight it is supposed to switch over to sleet and then all rain.  I will say it again and again, I WANT SPRING!

It has been a tough couple of days for me.  My dad has lung cancer and he was doing reasonably well.  Yesterday, I got the call that they put him into the hospital.  He had been sick from the chemo, but now it is bad enough that every time that they try to get him out of the bed he is getting sick.   They are doing a brain scan today and we are now waiting to see if the cancer has spread to his brain. They think that is what is causing the severe sickness.   I think one of the hardest things is that I live over 900 miles away.  We are waiting for the results and as soon as I know, I will be heading home for a few days.   I don't think anyone is ever prepared to lose a loved one, even though you know in advance that they don't have long on this earth.

I started weaving on the shawls and they are going to be just beautiful.  I debated on if I should weave shawls.  I don't know too many people that wear them.  These were just to pretty to pass up.  Hopefully, I will have enough fabric woven tomorrow to be able to take a picture!

Have a great evening.

Blizzard weather

We are getting blizzard like conditions.  Wind blowing at least 25 to 30 miles an hour.  Enough so that some times you can't even see the end of the drive way.  Kegan is around 6.1 to 6.2 in his boots and he is standing next to the snow bank outside the porch steps.   I am soooooooooooooo ready for spring.

Not much new is happening on the farm.  Just trying to get through the winter.  Working on some shawls that I am weaving.  Will have pictures sometime this week of the beginning of the project.

Stay warm and enjoy your weather if it is better than ours!
