Open

The barn is slowly getting more room.  We sold 16 bales of hay and then the hubby was happy to get his tractor back into the barn out of the elements.  I just knew, that we should of built him his barn first.  Hopefully, before the summer is out, he will have his very own barn for his engines, tractors, and work shop.   We bought a barn a few years ago and just haven't wanted to spend the money for the concrete to put it up, but this year hopefully things will work out and we can get it up.

The sun has been shining the last few days, but it has been pretty darn chilly.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be more cloudy and up in the low 50's.  It sure has been one crazy winter this year.  So far, I think the hubby is going to get his wish about an open winter.  Not really a lot of snow has fallen this year.  Usually by this time we have at least seen a foot of snow.

Went and got blood work done this morning, then went to look at new dish washers, then went and looked and stoves and refrigerators!  I have finally gotten tired of washing dishes by hand and I am ready to get a new washer, but now it is a matter of picking one out that hopefully, will last a little longer than the last one!

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Hobbies

This is just a small view of the newest engines.  The guys have defiantly taken up a new hobby and I sure as heck hope that it last long.  These babies take up a lot of room, especially when you have a dozen of them!  I really haven't kept count, but I do know... that it is not a cheap hobby!  The next purchase is the trailer to load all these babies on and take to show this summer.  Then, of course, we have to get a building erected so that they can be stored all together and out of the weather.  They do enjoy spending father and son time together though, and that is what counts.

I have been doing the same old stuff as I said in the last post.    I do the farm and weaving and the normal day to day running to keep the house hold going.   So, not a whole lot goes on around here.  Just keep going and living life as it comes.   Waiting for the winter to get over.  It will be nice to be outside without the fingers and the face freezing!

Hope you have had a good Friday.

Ice

It was pretty darn icy this morning.  This is the sidewalk going to the house.  Try to walk on that, and the drive way, when going to the barn!   I don't know how many times that I have slipped and fallen before on the ice.  I now go slower than a turtle, when it is icy out.  I made it though, and all the animals got fed on time this morning.  Now it is warmer and raining.  We are supposed to be up in the 50's tomorrow and then start to cool down by evening.

Not really a lot to report, doing the same old stuff.   Take care of the animals, weave and take care of the household things.  Seems like a pretty darn boring life, but that is OK.  I enjoy not having any drama happening.  Winter months, not a whole lot goes on.

Hope you have a great night.

Mother Nature

Just a week ago, this is what it looked like, now we are able to see the ground again.  We had some snow, sleet, and rain that day.  Now, we are supposed to get some snow tonight and then turn into freezing rain, sleet and then turn into all rain by Thursday.  They are actually predicting around 1 to 3 inches of rain.   Supposed to be close to 50 by Thursday and then going to the 30's before the night is over.  Oh, mother nature, what do you have in-store for us after this winter is over?  I hate to imagine what this spring and summer is going to be like!

Made a list today of the things that need to get done this summer, and told the hubby I have the list already for him.  He even added to it!  Hopefully we will get a good start and get most of it done before the fall season arrives.

I went to the tax man and he asked me if I would like to work part time as a payroll clerk, and I said heck yes!   I would love to get out among other people for a few days a week.  I love my animals, but they really are hard to start up a conversation with and keep it going ;)  I probably won't start or hear anything about the job until after tax season.

Hope you have a great evening.

Dancing

Someone thinks if she dances she will be able to get what is on the counter!  Little does she know that is not happening!   She surprises us just about everyday with her shenanigans.  You can tell she is still just a year old.  Lots of things left to teach her yet.

The weather is pretty darn nice today.  Whenever the sun shines, that is a nice day to me.  I hate it when the sky is clouded over, and it is dreary looking.  It sure makes for a mood change from happy and go lucky to just plain melancholy!   They are calling for some winter weather from  Wednesday to Friday, what... we don't know and the weather man isn't all the sure either!

On a good note, the colonoscopy came back good and don't have to have another one for 10 years!! Now that is good news to me.

Hope you have a good day.

Love

I wish I would've gotten this picture on Valentine's day.  It would of made the perfect picture for it.  I just happen to be looking out the den's picture window yesterday afternoon.   I was able to get a picture through the window.  I tried to go outside, but by the time I got out there, they had stopped.

I has been a horrible few days.  Over the weekend it was wind chill factors of 30 below zero, then today we had snow and then freezing rain, and last but not least the rain came down in buckets.  I think mother nature is a little confused this year.

This week is going to be a busy week, and not a very good one either.  Taxes tomorrow, Thursday it is getting ready for the colonoscopy for Friday, then Friday is the colonoscopy.  One good thing, I got a call today telling me my ultrasound came back fine.  So, no heart problems that they can find at this time.  That is always good news.

Hope you have a great evening.

Shawl

This is the next shawl.  It is a pine and sage color.  The picture doesn't do it justice, but once I have a little more woven, I will take a different picture.  I will also take one once, it is off the loom and done.  I have one that has to be made for a client and one that is going to be put into my inventory to sell,

I had to make a trip down to NJ, for Matt.  He had ordered new boots for work, that are a lot more water proof and nice and warm.  He has to work the weekend and this weekend is going to be the coldest it has been this winter.  So, he asked me really nice to bring them down for him.  I hated to drive there, but I did it.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I just hate driving where the traffic is atrocious.  I was going to drive back home Saturday morning, but he asked me to stay until Monday.  Then on Tuesday we are supposed to get some rain snow mix.

Not much else is going on.  I am looking toward the spring weather again.  Even though our winter really hasn't been as bad as some winters have been.   I just like to be able to go outside and not have to wear a coat.

Have a great day.

Abstract

Yes, it is the bark on a tree.  Nothing special.

Finished winding a warp for a new set of shawls.  They are going to be a pine, and sage color.  I am actually looking forward to weaving them.  I think they are going to be pretty.

I  basically got things ready for taxes.  I am still working on a system on Excel to keep track of the amount of yarns that I use and the other things that go with running a weaving business.  I have a lot to do.  I want to get as much inventory as I can ahead for doing craft shows this year.

I love going away for a few days, but I always like coming home to my own things.  I also like my normal routine.  We went yesterday and picked out a new set of end tables and a coffee table.  It was my birthday gift from the hubby.  I have been wanting a new one for some time.  That is just one of the things to cross off of my want list.  They will be in about 4 weeks from now.

Hope you have a great week.

The top picture is of Manhattans skyline just before the sun is completely up in the sky and the second picture is when the sun has come up.    They are not very good pictures.  It is hard to take a picture through a window, that is very dirty and has two panes of the glass.

I came down to NJ to be with Matt this week.  It is nice to be able to do some paper work, and study my Excel course without interruptions.  I still have a lot of computer work to do.  I really won't have a lot of time to be bored.  I am doing my Zumba Cd's in the morning and then I have my coffee and breakfast, then I am looking at e-mails and facebook, then it is book work, computer work, and then study time.  Then I will do some reading until Matt comes back.  I will then proceed to cook supper and wait and see what happens after that.  It is going to be boring but relaxing.

The kids are taking care of the animals and all the other farm things that need doing.  They are sure handy to have around.  Sometimes :)

Hope you have a great week.
