Grooming

Yesterday was a day for just me.  I had my hair done, had a pedicure done (very first time ever), and then I had a manicure done.   If you have never had a pedicure done, I recommend it (even if you only do it once!).   I have heels that crack in the winter and hands that do the same thing.  So, I decided to have it done.   I can't believe how soft my feet feel.

The hubby came home yesterday (with a cold).  He says he is feeling better today.  We were going to spend the day cutting wood for the winter.  Sounds like he might wait for the weekend to start that though.  He did mention the state fair.  We shall see, the kids are both working and it is a day that is just us and no one else!   Today is Friday and I know some are always looking forward to that day.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Just a humming.

I have been wanting to get pictures of the hummers, but keep forgetting the camera.  I finally had the camera in hand and the hummers decided, that I had a camera and they were not going to pose for me.  I love listening to them buzzing around me, while I am weaving.

It has been a pretty boring week so far.  Just weaving and enjoying the wonderful weather we have been having.  Hope you have a great day.

Veggies plus

This is one of my favorite places to go, when I don't get enough vegetables from the garden.  This is the Carrot Barn.  A couple of years ago, I didn't get tomatoes because of the blight.  I went and bought a few bushels of them to put up.  This year, we didn't get any sweet corn put in and I have gotten a bushel and put it up. I am thinking of making another trip for a couple more bushels of corn.  In the fall they have the best apple cider donuts!

Yesterday, I took my little loom outside on the patio and did some weaving.  It was awesome, I love being out on my patio.  It is supposed to be another beautiful day today.   I think I will do the same thing.   I have a radio out on the back porch that I turn on.  Nothing like being able to work outside when it is nice and listen to some country music at the same time.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

So tired

Sara is all tuckered out.  She had a hard day at the groomers.  She decided to sleep on mamma's feet on the way home.

The weekend is over and now it is time to go back to work or sometimes it is time to finally take a nice long breath.  Some folks work harder on the weekends than they do during the week.  We didn't, it seemed like it was a weekend, that not much was really accomplished that needed to get done.  There is always next weekend.  I think sometimes that we all need to say the heck with doing much and just taking a nice long breath and enjoy the weekends.

This week is going to be filled with weaving and trying to get some outside work done that is way past needing to get done.  Hope you have a great week and as some would say ( take time to smell the roses).Image result for image of roses

Goodbye?

I am hoping to have a new home for Thunder the mini mule.  I was thinking of selling Scout the pony, but I have actually grown attached to him.  So, he gets to stay.  Thunder is one that has been very hard for me to get attached to.  He is one of those that needs someone with a really firm hand and you have to watch yourself around him.  He likes to kick out when you least expect it.   I need to downsize and Thunder is the one that has to go.  I have to make sure that he goes to a home that will take care of him though.  I put a lot of time into getting him looking healthy and happy.

Been pretty darn hot these last few days.  Not doing anymore outside than I have to.  Will be indoors weaving and going through some cupboards that  have needed going through for quite some time.

Hope you have a great day.

Tractors, Engines, oh my!

The show was great!  It was held in Roseboom, NY.  Lots of John Deere tractors, some International tractors and just about anything you can think of.  Not to forget, some engines.  The video is of the biggest one there, it was pretty impressive.  Shook the whole ground and smoked a lot.  This was our second show this year and we made lots of new friends and hope to do at least one more show this year.  All we need to do now is find ourselves a trailer large enough, so that we can haul the engines in one trip instead of two.  The darn things are not cheap though.

Hope you had a great weekend.  Ours was busy but fun.  Hope your week is good.

Love those sunsets!

I am going to put in a landscape photo into the fair.  This is just one of the pictures I am thinking of putting in.  I have so many landscape pictures that it will be a hard choice to decide.  I kind of like the ones I also took at the Watkins Glen State Park.

Yesterday was a day of weaving and going to the chiropractor; then did my favorite thing to do,  shopping (NOT)!  Today is another day of doing running, then hopefully getting in the barn to do some more weaving.  I sold one of my knew shawls, and a scarf!  I have another scarf that is sold, but still have to get it woven.  Seems like I get something woven to up my inventory, then someone wants to buy it.  That is great, I would rather sell than let it sit on a shelf!

Hope you are having a great week.  It has been a pretty good week for me, so far!

Another show

Well, it is another week toward the end of summer.  The last week has been beautiful.  We have gotten all our hay done for the year.  I did a lot of gardening, still have few things left to do.  We  went on vacation and by the time I made it back home my broccoli had flowered out, so I will buy some.  We didn't get sweet corn put out this year, so I will buy it and put it up.   Next year, we are postponing our vacation on the lake until the beginning to middle of august.  That way, hopefully we can have most of the gardening done and hay done.

I took today and didn't do much of anything.  Picked-up house, laundry, book work, did fair entries online etc.  Just the day to day things that need to get done, while the hubby is away and I can actually get it done.  Hope you have a great week.

The nose loves those smells!

One of the best things this time of year, is flowers!  I love being able to sit outside and see all the flowers.  I also get to watch the hummingbirds fight over the feeders.  I do miss hearing the water run in my pond.  It will be one of the first things to get done next year, and that is putting in a new inground pond, that will be deep enough so the fish survive the winter.

The boys are doing hay today.  We mowed down the rest of the hay and are having our neighboring farm friend round bale the rest of the hay for us.  Hopefully, we have enough square bales for the animals for the winter.   I will be doing my weekly running for groceries and feed for the horses and chickens.  Then up in the barn getting knew projects ready to weave.  I will be posting pictures of the new shawls that I just finished.

Have a great day!

Just the Beginning!

Well the guys are well, on their way to having a real hobby!  They now have four engines.  Next is getting a trailer to haul the engines to shows, then it will be a camper to spend weekends at shows.  The son and hubby love to mess with them.  I will be taking my little loom and weaving while they play.  I have a feeling next year will be a busy summer.

The hubby is home for the week.  He says he will get lots of things that need to get done, done.  There is a lot to do that is not going to get done in one week.  Then it will be back to work and not close to home. (so far)  He will be going to W. Virginia for a couple of weeks. (me too)

We had a bad storm last night.  Our little town got hit pretty good.  Lots of trees down and we lost power for a few hours.   I lost my washing machine.  I do have someone coming to look at it tomorrow and hopefully it can be fixed.  If not, I will be buying a new or if possible a used one.

Hope you are having a good week so far.

People Pictures

Last of the pictures.  I had to post everyone that was on the trip.  The first one is of my sister and I.  Then the daughter and her boyfriend (the best one yet),  Then the son and daughter! (don't they look like they love each other), The nephew that tries not to get his picture taken. (I got lucky)   The last one was of the kids and I.   We all had a great time.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Tomorrow will be something totally different.

We baled 140+ bales yesterday.  This week the hubby might be home and then the real work begins.  We have lots of wood to get chopped, split and stacked into the wood shed.  I have weaving to get done.  It will be a busy week.

Hope your Monday goes quick.  Have a great day.
