And we are off!

The first time in 5 years that Sirocco has had a saddle on and been ridden.  My sister and niece and nephew and great niece and nephew are here from Illinois and my niece Amanda volunteered to get up and see how he would do.  He did no bucking and the problem we had was he did not want to move.  I told her I need her to stay here for another three weeks for me and get some time put on him.  She didn't agree to that.  I now know that all I need is someone younger and not afraid of him to put the time in.  Any volunteers?  :)

I think you need to sweet talk your niece into a three week visit with you, for a summer vacation and horse riding.

I second what Terra said....and add some money to sweeten the deal!

He sure is handsome and looks ready to hit the trail.

Is there anyone local you can send him to for a week's refresher course? If you have any fear issues, don't get on him until you are sure that he is back on track, and then if you can, take some lessons with the person who you get to ride him. Confidence is hard to rebuild once it's lost but it is doable.

Shirley, That is the trouble I have around here, I can take him for a refresher course but they want so much money. I find it hard to find someone I can trust! My biggest problem is the confidence part. When I get up on Annie I am nervous to start but once things start going I am fine.

He is a beautiful horse. They learn quickly how NOT to obey don't they?

Oh he looks good under saddle! You do need some horse crazy teenagers to ride him for a while, they are always helpful (and cheaper)
