Pretty

We had a beautiful snow fall the other night.  I thought that I would go out and see what kind of pictures I could get.  The hubby comes in from taking the dogs out and said, "honey you need to go out and take some pictures, it is pretty out there."

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you have a wonderful New Year.  The hubby calls New Years Eve night amateur night and doesn't like to go out.  So, we pretty much stay in and have our own kind of fun with the kids (at least the son) and just enjoy being together.  The hubby is usually in bed by the time the son and I bring in the New Year! (half the time the son is sleeping too!)

I will get back into blogging more regularly as soon as the holidays are over and things get back to normal.  These last few weeks have been pretty hectic and I have just been enjoying not having to worry about school and other things.

Merry Christmas!

I sure hope everyone that celebrates Christmas, has a wonderful day.  We always try to put the train around or near the tree every year.  This year the hubby brought out the big train.  It lights up and smokes and even whistles!  It is one of our wonderful traditions that we love to try to do every year for Christmas.  The transformer that we had to run the other train did not have enough juice to get the big train going, without it always flipping the circuit.  So, the hubby was calling all over the place trying to find a more powerful transformer and we were able to find one!

We had the bird count yesterday for the Audubon society, it was rainy and not a good day for a bird count.  The hubbies sister and bother ended up doing most of it.  We went to the aunt and uncle's farm and Matt and the son walked the property and looked for birds.

We are going to do a turkey and ham out on the big BBQ grill for Christmas dinner tomorrow.   I always make the holiday meals and the hubbies mom and dad come over.   I love to cook for the family.

I don't know if I will get to blog tomorrow.  So, here is my Christmas wish to all my friends and family and especially to all my wonderful blogger friends!  May you have a wonderful day tomorrow with your friends and family.

Who is mother nature?

The roads coming home on Tuesday, after my final, looked like this.  We did get 10 inches over the weekend then another 2 inches on Tuesday.  I was supposed to go to NJ to see the hubby and decided that I would wait until Wednesday when the roads would be better.   So, here I am in NJ and will be headed back tomorrow morning.  The hubby has to work tomorrow so, I will go back home to weather that is up in the high forties and a lot of the snow will be melted by then.  We are supposed to get more rain over the weekend.  Hard to believe that just a few days ago we had below zero temps!

As most of you who follow me on facebook know, I am finally done with school for now.  I will be graduating with a 3.88 GPA.   I hope to be able to get the weaving going, as you also know.   So, if anyone needs towels, blankets, scarves, table runners, rag rugs, just let me know and I will try to accommodate you.  I will now have the time and hopefully be able to get things done in a more timely manner.  I have been pretty slow in getting projects done, but now that school is done I can devote myself to getting the weaving done.  I am hoping to have more time with the farm and horses, also.  I did find someone to spend the time with Sirocco and hopefully get him to the point where I can ride him and not worry about too many problems with being pitched off.  Of course we all know (those that have horses) that nothing is a sure bet when it comes to staying in the saddle.

I don't know about you, but I still have some Christmas shopping to do and it isn't to long and it will be here!  We don't even have the tree decorated yet!  We have had it up now for over a week and still don't have it decorated, the lights are the only thing that is on the tree!

What a Life!

Now that is the life! Jake loves to sleep on things, including in the son's cloths basket!(with the cloths in it)  We came home today and he had the cloths all over the floor and was sleeping in the basket!  We have a spot in the storage room where we put our coats and shoes, and there is a rug under the coats with the shoes on it.  He loves to spread the shoes out of the way and sleep on the rug!   I think I know what his Christmas present is going to be this year!

I have lots of work before the end of the semester and finals, which are the first two days of next week.  I am so looking forward to this semester being over and getting into trying to get the weaving up and going.  My brain is ready for a break that is for sure, I don't think I have ever used my brain as much as I have since being in college.

Santa

Saturday the ladies auxiliary had their Christmas breakfast.  We didn't do as well this year as we have in previous years.  We just happened to select a weekend that the elks lodge, and one other place were having their breakfast on the same day.  But it was a good time and we do it for the firehouse and of course for the community.

I don't know about you, but I am so not ready for Christmas.  I have gotten a lot of my shopping done, but still have a lot to do.  I have done most of my shopping online this year.  A lot easier and a lot less aggravation!   We just got our tree on Sunday and it still is not decorated yet.

Storage

The hubby built us some storage cupboards for the canned goods.  We had a tin cupboard that didn't close right and it was in the wrong spot and just wasn't conducive to the jars and not very accessible.   Now I have a nice dry place for the empty and full jars.  As you look closely you can see jars on top, which means no more buying canning jars!  He did such a great job!  I told him he needed to make more for the other stuff that needs to go back into the basement.  (one thing at a time he told me)

Hope you have a great week.
