That top picture is of a flicker and it could of been a better one but the camera couldn't zoom in close enough to get a better shot! The first time I had seen a flicker close up! Hope you all have a wonderful Fathers Day!
We have flickers here, some with beautiful red spots on their faces and under their wings such a beautiful orange. I've never been able to get a good pic of them, certainly not in flight when the color shows.
I've been enjoying your posts and your photos are amazing. I have been so very busy (who says retirment is dull?!) that I've only been able to drop in and read.
Hope your son enjoys his camp...you are right the come back changed kids.

thanks lisa, for your nice comment. i pray you have decades with your dad filled with good health for all of you. your flicker is so pretty! and, as you know, my cricket ate a baby flicker...grrrrr. i read that three collie hasn't seen bees lately in her comment. we didn't see any honey bees last year at all. but this year i am beginning to see them but not as many. sure hope your haying will be completed. our hay guy made some round bales last week for his cows. take care!

Very nice shot of the bee in the blossoms. We have flickers here too, and you're right- tough to get a photo of them!
Nontheless it is a good shot, he is almost framed by the bars:)
