Saturday afternoon I decided to take a walk out to the back of our pasture ground into the woods to take pictures for the blog.  I ended up in the hubbies tree stand to see if I could get pictures of some different creatures.  Not so lucky, I think I went out to late in the day.  The top picture is of a plant that I saw and didn't recognize.  The next picture is of the stand of pine trees that are next to the house and we go through them to get to the pastures when we don't feel like going through the gates opening and closing them.  Then the last is a picture of a bird as you can see, but I am not for sure what it was.  The sun was just right that it left the bird in the shaded part of the sun and me.

Hope you all had a great day.

Oh my!

We had tin on top of this hay rack to keep hay dry last year and never took the tin off the top.   The hay rack was out in the field and we get some awesome winds up here on the mountain.  The wind whipped off the tin and lifted the hay rack along with it!  Hope you all had a great weekend!

The apple trees are leafing out and the grapes are coming along and lastly the fruit trees are just about to bloom and I hope they all do not freeze.    It has been getting pretty darn cold some nights, down below 30 even!  Which isn't all that good for the spring plants that are showing.

Not much going on this weekend, I am being a hermit this weekend and trying to get my essay's and other homework all done before Monday shows its face!  I know I keep repeating myself when it comes to school!   Just a couple more weeks and I won't be saying anything more about school for another few months!

This is the weekend that the hubby doesn't come home, so he gets his break this weekend (JB!)    I will have the next honey do list made up for him though next week ;)

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Here are the chicks in their new home and they are nice warm and cozy!  As you can see they are getting quite a bit of their feathers.

We are having rainy, cloudy and chilly days.  We did need some rain, now we aren't so dry.  Just as long as it knows when to stop!  Hope you all had a great day!

Coop Castle

As you can see from the pictures, we were busy this weekend.  The hubby was home for the weekend and we decided we better get a new chicken coop built.   The little chicks were getting just a might to big for the stock tank in the garage.  It only took us about 10 to 11 hours to build it.  The hubby, of course, did most of the building, I was the gofer girl and hold it lady.  I did paint the outside though!   Tomorrow I will post the pictures of how cozy the chicks look on the inside!

Just a few more weeks of school and I will try to get back to blogging full time again.  So, hang in there with me and I will be back in full force soon.  I will catch up on everyone at their blogs as soon as I get a chance!   I do come over and look, just a little behind in commenting.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Brain Overload!

That is how I am feeling at this moment, my brain is saying that I have to study for an Algebra test on Monday, I have an Economics test on Friday, I have to study for my Math of Business Finance tomorrow along with getting my modules printed for the next chapter in Marketing plus read that chapter, I have bills that have to get paid and out the door, I am way past getting the supper going for tonight, I have one English essay DRAFT done and still have to get the bugs worked out of it then I have two weeks to get the next essay and speech prepared by that time also.  I think I will just go to bed and hide under the covers for the next three weeks, do you think that could be an option? NOT!!!!!!!

Other than that, the animals are all doing good, the big steers will be meeting my freezer in just a couple of weeks then we can let the little steers have more room in the barn once the other steers are gone.  The baby chicks are growing and have lots of feathers now, that is the hubbies honey do list this weekend and that is to build a little chicken coop for them.  We have them in a stock tank with a heat lamp on them right now but they are getting a little too big for it now!  The horses are healthy but they sure do need some brushing down, the fur has been flying with shedding season here.  The dogs are good, fat and sassy.  We are down to one cat and she is good, still would like to see her outside more than not!  The kids are good, oops they aren't animals are they? JUST KIDDING, they can be at times!

Well, it is time to give this old brain a rest for the rest of the evening or I will be in the nut house rather than in  school!

Have a great evening!

This is some of the clean up I have been doing when school work isn't taken all my time.  I still have a lot to clean up before I am done.  I did get a good start and these lovely things showed up just a couple of days ago.

We had lovely weather today, it did reach 87 and it is hard to believe that tomorrow we will be right back down to the 60's.  Hope you all had a great day!

Croak

Can you see our visitor in the first photo?  We don't have the pond up and running yet, but we do have visitors already!  We even have a flower blooming.  This is the only one at this point, but other things are greening up pretty good.  No leaves on the trees yet but the buds are there.

I have been pretty busy with school and I know you all are probably tired hearing about that.  So, I won't spend to much time complaining, just a little.  I still have two essay's and one speech to prepare for and they are not going all that well.  I am not one that is a great writer and it has been hard trying to get them started.  I will be spending some major time in our writing lab from now until the end of the semester.   The weather has been fairly good here, it is a little dry which in some cases is not all bad.

Hope you all are doing great and I will be by to see what you all have been up too. Have a good day.

Nosy

I smell that grain a comin!

We have the one Holstein, short horn cross that is a great steer, he comes over everyday to get pets and he's real friendly!  The other steer, not so much.  But that is OK because they aren't our pets!

Not much is going on, the best thing is the hubby is home for a couple of days and then he's going to be on his way back to Ohio on Sunday morning.  So, we will enjoy his company while we can.

Hope you all have a great Easter, and have a great weekend.

Grown

In just two weeks, these little guys have grown a bunch.  You can see that they are beginning to get their feathers in.  That is about the only thing different going on around South View.

School is school, and can't wait for the end of the semester.  I have already scheduled my classes for next fall.  I will be taking Business Law, Principles of Management, English 11, and Financial Accounting.  I will be having my Fridays off!

Hope you all had a great day.
