Spending Again

Well, went to another auction today and got to spend the hubbies hard earned money!  This time we bought a tedder, hay rack (just rack not the running gear), and a loader for the little ford 3000.   Yes, I will have pictures soon!  Too tired to go take the pictures and down load them.  Hope you all had a great day, we finally had a day of no rain and sun shine!  Hopefully we will have the same weather tomorrow!

Things are a bloomin!

One thing about all the rain we have been getting is the flowers are blooming pretty good now.   If I thought I could get out in the lawn without sinking up to me knees in mud I would start getting the lawns cleaned up and mowed.  But we would leave ruts deep in the lawn.

We have had enough rain to last us all summer!  The son went to the basement to get his bike and found it flooded, the sump pump had decided to get stuck and we had probably around three to four inches of water on the floor, not good with two freezers and the furnace and I am so glad that we have a wet basement anyway and they are up on blocks to keep them off of the floor!

I also made bread for the first time in I don't know how long and I have never been one for baking much, but now that I am home I find myself wanting to do it more often and it turned out great, (to my surprise!)  Hope you all have a great day.

The good and the Bad

I think that this is our permanent scene outside our window. Except the fog has made its way in also with the rain and clouds. The stream that usually is dry most of the year is now running pretty hard with lots of water and no end in sight. It sure is a wet spring. I heard on the news about the flooding in other parts of the US and not a good scene that is for sure. We go from extreme winter that wants to last to the rains that want to keep on going. Mother nature sure has it in for us this year!

Enough on the weather forcast, we as humans seem never to be happy with the weather, but you have to agree that the snow lets people have lots of fun skiing on snow skis and making snow men and having snow ball fights for fun, and then you have the rain that lets things grow nice and green and brings up our favorite flowers every year and gives us great things to eat later in the year! So, no matter what we think of the weather it sure does have its good points! I forgot that when the really hot weather comes we can go play in the water to get cooler if need be.

No matter the weather it sure is nice to be able to go out and enjoy not having to wear fifty different layers of clothing! I am looking forward to getting out and getting the pond already for the fish and to be able to out and watch the frogs come back and the hummingbirds go zooming by my head wanting to know where there feeders are! Have a great day.

Table Runner

I finally finished this table runner. The pictures don't do it justice, but it is very pretty. It has a little bit of a sheen to it. It is red and cream color. I haven't made too many table runners. My next project on the loom will be bath towels for the family Christmas presents this year and of course I will be making extra. Now that I am home more and I will be spending more time in the barn weaving. I will also be making more kitchen towels. I am still working on my latest saddle blanket and hope to get that done in the next week and then I will post pictures of that all finished.

The weather here has been gloom and doom, not much sun at all and lots of rain. I think the mud has finally made it up to and past my ankles now. One good thing we are supposed to get up into the 70's for a few days this week. Hope you all are having a good day.

Steak anyone

Well, no pictures this morning, but there will be this afternoon.  We are off to cut up our beef and package it and fill our freezer.   Can't wait to have a nice fresh steak on the grill!   I will have a party and you all are invited!  ;)  Have a wonderful day!

Mudd anyone!

Not much going on at the farm.  Just trying to stay dry.  Been bringing the horses in a night just so they can get out of the wet and mud for a while.  I don't have the pasture ground to keep the livestock on, so they are fed hay year around and we use the remaining ground to make our hay on.  We plan to get the land surveyed so that we can put line fencing in and then cut the pastures up for the livestock after we get our first cutting of hay off the ground and then break the pastures up into section.  Around here it is not cheap to do that, but we will get it done.

We do have a repreve from the rain for today but back in tonight and into tomorrow and dry Sunday then showers for the next four days, not total wash outs but still enough to let the mud get even deeper.  But I have to say bring it on!  Anything is better than snow!!  Even though we did have flurries yesterday morning!  Hope you all have a great day.

Pretty

Well, there really hasn't been too many pretty skies at night, I was just lucky enough to catch this one last week before the rains came in and ruined it.   Not much going on.  The Amish are doing the roofs on our house, being as they leak like crazy when we get any kind of pouring, driving rain.  The other night we had one, and it leaked and I had to go and get the pans!  So, hopefully by the end of the week we will be nice and buttoned up again!  Have a good day.

Pics for JB

Posted by PicasaI was lucky enough to get the pair of wagons for just a little over 2,000.  Which is not cheap but it is a lot cheaper than brand new ones!  Now we will be able to get more hay made for ourselves this year and a lot faster also!  Have a great day.

Hay

It really is impolite to eat with your mouth open!

Went to an auction today with the hubbies Uncle.   We had a pretty good time, even though it was windy and pretty chilly all day.  I was lucky enough to get a couple of hay wagons.  I got the cheapest and the most expensive one there.  The first one that sold went the cheapest and then the next ones went higher because if you were the higher bidder you got to pick the one you wanted and if you wanted more than one you could take the rest or how ever many you wanted!  So, I just bought two.  Now I can bring in more than just one wagon of hay at a time!  The rest of the equipment I wanted went more than I was willing to pay!

We still have another auction that we always go to at the end of this month, so maybe they will have some more good stuff and maybe they will have things go a little lower!  We shall see.

Hope you all have had a good day.

Feeding time

Hay you, WHAT are you looking at!  Yes, I am eating and dribbling a little bit what is it to you?  Can't a guy eat in peace!  Guess not, because you are still here.

Hope the rest of you don't get caught with food in your mouth ;-)

Aren't some just plain rude.  I guess that is the animal in all of us.   Have a great day and don't let my bad tempered friends get to you ;)

Pictures!!!

Well , this is life down in New Jersey, the tan house is the place that the hubby gets to stay in during the week while he is working.  As you can see the house next to it is pretty darn close and that is the way the whole place is, you are right on top of your neighbors.  The next picture is their back yard, what there is of it of course.   The next few pictures are  of the street going to the bookstore that we love down there.  You can find just about anything in this store!  It isn't a bad town, but it is still part of a bunch of towns that are right on top of each other.   I would defiantly not like living there at all!!   Nice to visit because you can find anything your heart desires but no thank you!  I will take my country life any day!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Blogger

Well, blogger is being a real pain!!!  It will not let me post pictures, it is telling me that I have used up all my space even though I have deleted and freed up more space.  So, for now I have no way to post pictures and I am not going to pay for more space.  I know for sure that I should have plenty.

I had a very hectic weekend, and I am glad to be back home now and this is the first full week at home that I will have without having to go to an outside job and boy do I have my week all planned out and lots to do.  Along with the weaving and playing with the horses!

I will post pictures as soon as I can.  I have lots of different things to share with you all.   Hope you all have a great day.

Day 3

Well, both  sides to the house is done.   I enjoyed myself, the hubby took me out to dinner for steak at the longhorn restaurant and had prime rib!!!  Still not as  good as mine ;)  JB, I will have pictures when I get back tomorrow.   I am on the hubbies laptop and can't put pictures on it.

Bought some new bedding for the bed at JC Penny and walked the mall and bought just candles and measuring spoons and a grill brush.  I refrained from dragging the hubby into the clothing stores, too!

I am finally getting the hang of driving in the neighborhood where they are staying and is getting easier to get around and I am sure by the time that the summer is over that I will really know my way around.

Well, hope you all had a good day and I will be back tomorrow with pictures!

Day 2

My full day here was busy, went with the hubby to his company office and met a few of the guys that he works with.

He went to work then I went grocery shopping for him and then started cleaning one side of the house.  The house is divided into two separate apartments if you want to call it that.  I cleaned the one side and tomorrow I will be cleaning our side, or should I say the hubbies side!  What a chore.  I am getting well paid that is for sure!

Now I am cooking some supper then I will be done for the evening and I can relax.  The hubby has to work 3 to 11 and that means he leaves here at 1 and then he doesn't get home until 12.  That is in the afternoon until night.

Well, the day started out sunny and now it is raining again.  I still say better than snow!
Have a great evening.

Rain

I am down in New Jersey and loving not having to do much except just sit and relax.  The good thing about having your kids almost grown is that they can be home alone and do the chores without having mom at home!   The only thing I don't like is they of course can never do things like I do them and I can be pretty picky sometimes!   They do a good job though.   I like having down time, and coming to see the hubby is my down time.

Even though  I have to be the cleaning lady for a day, it is the price of not having to do the chores for a few days.  I can deal with that.  But ladies, have you ever had to clean a guys domain before, not fun!!  I am lucky and it looks like these guys know how to keep things picked up and they don't have much in this house being as they all have a real homes to go to on the weekends and so the only real thing they have down here is the bare essentials!  So, it is going to be fairly easy to clean.

They don't have much for food though.  I think I will have to hit the store tomorrow for some real food.
I got down here and decided that I really didn't want to drive anymore today so I didn't go anywhere once I got here, and I hate driving places in the busy towns that you have no idea where anything is and I am sorry but I probably could get lost in a paper bag!    The garmin is nice to have but it still is a pain in the rear to get around down here and the traffic is always bad, no matter what time of day you go out.

City drivers are CRAZY!  My hubby calls me chicken and you know what, YES I AM!  Now I know why I do not ever want to live in the city.   It is not NEW YORK city but to me all these little towns are combined and you almost might as well be in NY city!  The hubby would disagree as he actually does have to go over into the city everyday and the traffic around here doesn't compare.  I don't care, it still is crazy people behind the wheel of all those millions of cars that go like a bat out of hell, no matter where they go they are in a hurry!

I guess I better quit ranting on about city drivers and let this post end on that note!  You all have a wonderful evening and just so you know, if you come to the city, let someone else do the driving, it is better that way.  I try my best to make the hubby do all the driving down here.  The only place I like to drive to is the grocery store, because that is the easiest place for me to get to.

Oh I mentioned rain at the top, well, it has been raining now for the last couple of days and I drove three hours in the rain to get down here.  Now isn't that even more fun!  I will take it, NO SNOW, is good.

SVF

That is the name of the farm,  not much going on today.   I just get to go and have another root canal done.  Lucky me, NOT!  Hopefully it will be the last one for quite some time.   Had quite a scare over the weekend.  My dad had a heart attack and he was very lucky because he called and they got to him before it got worse.   There was a blockage in the largest artery in the front of his heart and it is one of the blockages that they call the widowmaker because most of the time people die of this particular heart attack!   He does still have a blockage in one of the arteries that is in the lower part of the heart that is 60 to 70 percent blocked and they are going to try and fix it with medication.  Not a good phone call to get at 10:00 at night that is for sure.  But he is doing really good now and hopefully he will get to come home today.   I live over 800 miles from home and that makes it a lot harder to handle because I can't just drive over and it wasn't fun because the hubby just happened to be at work also, and that is three hours away.  I have a fantastic mother-in-law!   I called her and she got me settled down.  I married into one of the best families ever!  Not to often people can say they love their in laws!

The weather is rainy here today but it sure is nice to be into the spring season finally, but I never rule out a flurrie or two!   We have gotten snow in May before.  We are supposed to get mostly 50's this week and not down to freezing at night which is good.   I might actually get some horse time in, next week.   This week the post will be mostly written as I am going down to the city to be with the hubby for the week.  Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sunshine

Today is a very beautiful day!   The sun is shining and lots of signs of spring!  I saw a Robin and heard the Killdeers this morning!    Nothing is better than walking out the door and seeing the sun shining and hearing the animals ready for their breakfast!

I am taking the son shopping.  I promised him that I would take him because I always take the daughter and never him and he wanted to go (don't get me wrong he is all boy and the only thing he really wants is new cloths!)  I asked him if he wanted me take him and he said, I have cloths that fit, I don't need new one, Mom.  Then in the next sentence he told me that he wouldn't mind getting some new socks and other personal things!   So, off we go just him and I.  I don't mind going but just the thought of driving for an hour and then shopping most of the day and driving back.  I do have an agenda though ,  I need a new pillow, a new comforter for our bed.   Hmmmm, did I say that I hate shopping ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
