Pest control

This is a citronella Plant and it is blooming, it smells fantastic if you like that kind of smell. It sure keeps the bugs away, well, for the most part any way.

Mother nature is at again, for the last few days it has been pretty darn hot and humid and now today it is cloudy and windy and in the low 50's! I think we have been transported back to early spring! Still better than being a-- deep in snow that is for sure!

Have a great day

I saw on 5 Starrs blog that you went to Google Chrome I've been using it for well over a year and I love it.

I've never seen the citronella plants. The leaves are very pretty. So, is it the leaves and/or the flowers that keep the critters at bay?
Your photos are great!

Shirley,
I liked google chrome better also but all of a sudden the comment part of the blogs started getting the really tiny font that I can't read for some reason.

Lisa,
The whole plant smells like citronella!

Funny - i've always heard of citronella, but did not realize it was a plant! I knew that "citron" was a fruit, something like a lemon, so i assumed that citronella was a chemical made from that.

So glad to be learning! It is interesting, and pretty flowers.

It has a great smell..but I would need a whole hedge of them to keep our mosquitoes away after all the rain. You can take cuttings off this plant and make more:)
