International 3 horse power, hit and miss engine.
The first picture is an International 3 horse power, hit and miss engine. It was used on farms before tractors were invented. This particular engine is from 1919. The last picture is a grinder for wheat, oats or even corn. We will use the engine to run the grinder with a belt that goes from the engine to the grinder. The engine runs on kerosene. We love going to the fairs or even to what is called a Gas Up engine shows. They have them all over around here. So, we decided to get in on the act. The hubby and son have been working on the engine, it wasn't running when they bought it. We plan on participating in shows this next coming year.

Putt putt putt is right! There's a few of these here on the ranch....women and children stay clear as the thing putters on! Lol!

My husband loves those engines. He calls 'em one-lung-ers.
Our son in law is into Steam engines, there are many festivals in the area that feature all kinds of engines. Fun to see! :)
