New Ones

Well here is Trip, the first photo and Zip the second photo, our new bulls soon to be steers for our beef next year. We have two steers for this year already on their way to this years freezer meals! Never thought I could raise Holsteins into nice beefers but I do. I would really prefer to have Angus but maybe in the next five years I will be able to start a cow/calf operation. That is my dream for the future, we shall see, but it does give me something to work towards.

Hope you all have a great day. Mine will be spent doing check book and bills (oh, what, fun!) and then out to the barn to finish my saddle blanket and hopefully tomorrow I will be posting the finished product!

Oh! cute....It's how they're feed, they all look the same in the freezer...LOL
as far as a cow/calf operation (one cow, one calf, you have an operation) small!..... ;)

Jeffro,
They sure can be especially right now when you are feeding them milk from the bucket and they keep buttin the bucket with their heads!

Callie,
Thank you, the hubby has been wanting to get me a windmill and we finally found one that I liked. The calves aren't usually to bad until they grow up ;)

Awww, they're such cute buggers!

I had no idea one could raise dairy cows as beef cows. Cool! Is the taste and texture the same?
It's great raising your own food, isn't it? You know just what went into that animal and what kind of life it led before it made it to your plate. Much better for animal and humans all around.
