Bird Feeder Watcher

I have been watching at the den window for our own birds to come to the feeders.  This week will be the posting of the birds.   The top one is of the Red-belly Woodpecker and then the last picture is of the Red Polls.   We are getting Blue Jays and some Tufted Titmouse's along with the regulars, starlings and chickadee's among others!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I did get a much needed new microwave along with cookbooks. Three cookbooks are from the late 1800's and two  are Dee Drummonds(Pioneer Woman) cookbooks!  I love The Pioneer Woman's cooking.  I have been waiting for her cookbooks.  I even watch her on the Food Network and copy her recipes when I get the time to sit down and watch it.

Today is a day of getting ready and waiting for the first big snow storm of the season.  We did have snow for Christmas but not all that much; now mother nature is getting ready to really give us some snow!  I am just glad that I am done with school for the season, one thing I hate and that is having to drive in the snow.  Winds are supposed to reach around 30 miles an hour. Which will really make the snow blow and cause some lovely traveling.

So, I think I will stay at home and enjoy the family and looking out at the lovely weather.  You all have a wonderful day.

Oh, what cute little fellows! The ranch where I board my horses, at 4,000 feet in our local mountains, has a woodpecker who likes to visit the hummingbird feeder there in the oak tree! The hummingbirds get quite upset with him! He's very colorful!

I do love bird watching. Great pics.
I also enjoy Ree's cookbooks and recipes. Very entertaining and the photos make them easy to follow along and get the recipe right.

I hope your Christmas was wonderful!
