Sunday Stills....Five favorites of 2012

Hope you are having a good weekend.  We are off to the family Christmas, unfortunately the roads up our way are just atrocious.

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures, I would have a book if I really posted all my favorites this year!

Have a wonderful day.

Blue

The first two pictures are of a Blue Jay that I tried to photograph, but he was just a tad to fast for me to get a good picture.  The camera was taking its sweet time in focusing.  I did get a good picture of a Starling, but I really didn't think he deserved a place on the post; being as they are a very nuisance bird and was taking up all the feed from the small birds.

We did get around 11 inches of snow yesterday.  The hubby and I spent most of the morning snow blowing and shoveling out from the snow.   I needed to go to the chiropractor after all the shoveling.   I am out of shape from not doing much since I had my surgery on my arm.

Just a few more days until the New Year and I told the hubby that I wanted to do something this year.  We are going to his cousins for the evening and taking the son so he can drive us home if need be.  That is one thing nice about having a son that has his drivers license and is to young to drink!  Designated driver!

Hope you all have a wonderful evening.

Bird Feeder Watcher

I have been watching at the den window for our own birds to come to the feeders.  This week will be the posting of the birds.   The top one is of the Red-belly Woodpecker and then the last picture is of the Red Polls.   We are getting Blue Jays and some Tufted Titmouse's along with the regulars, starlings and chickadee's among others!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I did get a much needed new microwave along with cookbooks. Three cookbooks are from the late 1800's and two  are Dee Drummonds(Pioneer Woman) cookbooks!  I love The Pioneer Woman's cooking.  I have been waiting for her cookbooks.  I even watch her on the Food Network and copy her recipes when I get the time to sit down and watch it.

Today is a day of getting ready and waiting for the first big snow storm of the season.  We did have snow for Christmas but not all that much; now mother nature is getting ready to really give us some snow!  I am just glad that I am done with school for the season, one thing I hate and that is having to drive in the snow.  Winds are supposed to reach around 30 miles an hour. Which will really make the snow blow and cause some lovely traveling.

So, I think I will stay at home and enjoy the family and looking out at the lovely weather.  You all have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas!

On Sunday we had the bird count and these are the pictures that I had taken.  No, bird pictures, as it is very hard to get pictures of a moving bird!  We did see Eastern Bluebirds, a sparrow hawk, and doves, and a few regular birds that you see pretty much all the time!  I love the cardinals, the most, they are just so vibrant colored!

Hope you are all having a wonderful and Merry Christmas!  I did get a new microwave oven, and a couple of Cd's and a few other lovely things!  Have a wonderful day to all my friends (bloggers)!

Sunday STills

Had the Audubon Society bird count today.  So it was a busy day.  Hope you all are ready for the Christmas day!  I will be busy tomorrow baking pies.  I am having the daughter cook dinner on Christmas, because her Lasagna is so much better than mine!  I get to have the day off!

Have a wonderful evening.

Mud anyone?  We are getting the rain rather than the snow.  I am beginning to think that we don't live in the Northeast.  We used to get some of the worst snow ever and you sure couldn't tell by me this year.  Even last year wasn't all that bad.  Been bringing the horses in the barn just to get them out of the mud and dry their hoofs out a little.  We had a dusting of snow last night but then the rain came  and now we are getting rain again.

Some good news, I have all A's again and now my GPA is 3.89.   The term GPA was 3.93.   I am always worried about grades and the hubby says I worry to much.  I am one of those people that don't like to do things half way.  If I do something, I want to do it right the first time!

Hope everyone is ready for the Christmas and New Year.  I am, and this is the first year that I have ever been done with wrapping and shopping before Christmas eve!  I usually am still wrapping gifts Christmas eve night!  But not this year, Yippy!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Covered Bridge

This is all that remains of the covered bridge, it is one of the things that the hurricane took last year.  It is hard to believe that the water reached high enough to wipe out the bridge.

I am finally done with school and so far I have all A's.  Just waiting on one last grade.  I only have two more semesters and I will have my Associates Degree in Business Administration!  I would love to go on and get a bachelors and Masters but it will probably not happen right away.  Hope you all are having a good week!

It has rained here all day.  I think I would rather have the snow than the mud at this point!

Sunday Stills "Pets"

I was pretty lazy this morning, I am only showing one of my many pets.  Pebbles loves to lay in front of the heater that is in the kitchen.  She is not the only one either, the dogs love that spot too.  I am constantly having to either step over them or boot-em out of the way!

We went gallivanting around yesterday and met the best couple ever.  Matt stopped and told the gentleman that was outside that he had a lovely set of buildings.  We got into the discussion that his wife weaves rag rugs and,of course, then we mention that I weave also!  Needless to say we had a lovely visit that lasted approximately an hour and a little bit more!  We exchanged numbers and addresses.

Hope you all are having wonderful weekend.

I was on my way to the college and there is this Red Tailed Hawk that is always sitting on the top of the telephone pole; I wanted to get a picture, but as soon as I stopped, he decided to fly away.   Maybe next time.

School has gone better than I expected, but it was a pretty stressful week.  I have only one more test, I take it one Monday then I am done for the semester.  I have gotten some grades in but I want to wait until they all are in before I give the news.

The weather has been pretty mild this winter so far.  The weather man is calling for snow, rain, sleet mix for the next few days after tonight.  It is supposed to still stay in the upper 30's though.  I will try to blog a little more often once school is  done.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Sunrise

The sunrise yesterday was pretty.  I went out to do chores and had to run back in the house to grab the camera.   Then the rain came in and this morning it is foggy and damp outside.  Going to be dreary for the next couple of days.  Hope you all had a great weekend.

We put our Christmas tree up and got it decorated.   I now have to go around the house and put things away so I can put Christmas decorations up in their place.  I even have some Christmas shopping done and wrapped.  I still have a long way to go before I am ready for the big holiday though.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I bet everyone had a pretty good idea what some of the Sunday stills were going to be.  Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Fur Rugs

Just gotta love having fur rugs and just think, I didn't have to pay anything for them!  Of course it does take quite a bit to KEEP them though!   Wouldn't it be just wonderful to not have to do anything but just lay around and play!

Not much going on just the same old, same old.  Going to get our Christmas tree this weekend and decorate.  It is a shame that so many people have gotten away from what the true meaning of Christmas is.  Money is so tight for everyone that maybe people should think about how to just be with family and enjoy the spirit of it rather than the gift giving.

The count down to the last day of school is here.  I have next week then I have to go back just for one day to take my accounting final!  Monday from 2-5 which stinks.  Having to go back for just one final!   So next week is going to be brain over load, study, study, study.  Wish me luck!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
