Polar Express
Saturday we went on the Polar Express train. We were read the story, had hot chocolate, a cookie and listened to Christmas music. We even got to see Santa and his elves. Matt's Aunt Sandy and his cousin went along with us. It was actually his Aunt that has wanted to go on the ride. They have the train ride every year in Saratoga Springs. It was a wonderful experience.
Hope your week is going good. We plan on staying in on New Years Eve night and having snack foods and just enjoy being with the kids while they are still living at home. Hope you have a wonderful New Years day.

Merry day after Christmas ;-)
Such great workmanship! Thanks, JB, it works great and the hubby loves them. JB, over at Dennis Ranch Weblog made them for us.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I usually try to get to every ones blog to say it personally but this year I was lazy and just said it on my last blog post. Just think, in a few days we will be celebrating the new year. It is hard to believe that 2014 is almost over. I have the same old resolutions I have every year for the new one. 1. lose weight, 2. ride my horses a lot more and last but not least, stay healthy and happy and make the most of the new year!

Not Happening!
Not much going on here at the farm. We are defiantly not going to have this as a view for Christmas. We are actually going to have around 51 degrees tomorrow and 40's for most of the week. As I am writing this, we are getting rain.
I am spending today and tomorrow baking. Tawny and I are going to work at our local co-op in the morning and then spending the afternoon doing more baking. Christmas day, the daughter is doing the cooking! I can make lasagna, but she is so much better at it!
I don't know if I will blog again before Christmas. So, I am going to wish you all the very, merriest Christmas now! Hope you have a wonderful day, and enjoy family and friends! I am glad to spend the day with the hubbies family and we will have both of our children with us for the whole day. Tawny usually ends up having to work, but this year she doesn't!
Merry Christmas

Oh Christmas Tree.....
This is our Christmas Tree. We don't like to put much on the tree, just our sentimental ornaments and lights. I just have a couple of things left to buy for the son and my shopping is done and ready for the Christmas morning. I have not started the baking. Monday is the day for that. The daughter is making lasagna for the dinner and I will make my famous garlic bread to go along with it.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Day!
My favorite little person visited me today. Our great niece,Peggy Ann, she it just too adorable for words. I love her dearly, she is such a very happy baby; It was lovely to have mom bring her over. I loved chatting with mom, Liz, because we have lots in common and we never run out of things to talk about! Peggy Ann doesn't like her great cousin though. Kegan talked to her and she started to cry! Poor Kegan, I felt worse for him than Peggy. Kegan is such a nice young man. (YES, I am prejudice, because he is my son!)
Hope you all have a great week.

Birds
Before I left for NJ this week, I happened to look out the window and saw this little fellow. Now that winter is here and we are feeding the birds again, we are able to see up close, some feathered friends that we don't normally see during the summer months.
Hopefully tomorrow, we will be getting our Christmas tree and then I will be spending the next couple of days decorating. Then putting the Christmas presents under the tree.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Thursday's thoughts
Hard to believe that it is Thursday already. I think that the time just goes too darn fast. I think I am going to sit down and write myself a bucket list. There are quite a few things that I would love to do before my time on this earth is over. When the hubby and I came down to NJ on Monday night; we saw a bad accident where one of the cars was upside down on the guardrails. The accident had to of happened right before we got there, because there were no cop cars or emergency vehicles at the crash site when we came upon the accident. It makes you really realize how short life can be.
I figure that I should enjoy life to the fullest while I can. I am always worried about money, how my house looks if someone comes over, how the yard looks to other people, and the list goes on. Do I really worry about the most mundane things? I sometimes think I do, but it is a lot harder to let those thoughts go out of my brain. I should really just enjoy the time I have. I think about the short time that my dad has left and realized that life is just too precious to really be worried about the small stuff.
So, now on to my bucket list. I won't tell you what is on it, but I will tell you, that I think everyone should have one and try to make it happen! Enjoy life, and enjoy those precious moments that are left, with the ones you love most, because your loved ones or you won't always be around.

December
December is here along with the snowy weather. We really haven't gotten a lot of snow as of yet. I wouldn't be too upset if we happen to get some for Christmas. Would it be to much to ask to get it for Christmas day then melt right after :-) I don't think mother nature will want to go along with my plan.
Now, how many of you have your Christmas tree up? I am sorry to say, but ours isn't yet. We are hoping to get it up this weekend. We were going to get it last weekend, but the time just got a way from us. I am actually ahead of the game this year. I have most of my Christmas shopping done. I have just a few things to buy.
Not really a whole lot to say. Life is pretty much the same old boring stuff. So, I will just leave things as they are.
Hope you are happy and healthy!

Its coming!
Yes, the S word is coming today. Snow! I am down in New Jersey with the hubby and we are supposed to get just plain, old rain. But.......up home they are expecting 6 to 12 inches + today into tomorrow. I was going to stay home but the son said that he knew how to do chores, drive the tractor, plow, and if the power goes out, how to get the generator hooked up to the tractor. So, needless to say, I left with the hubby last night to come to New Jersey and spend the week.
It will be a nice break. I will be ready to go home by the end of the week though. I will use this week to do some catching up on some of my horse DVD's, book work, and getting Christmas cards ready to go out in the mail.
We don't have the tree yet, but this weekend we will be getting it and decorating for Christmas. Usually I am not in the Christmas spirit, until we get a little closer to the holiday; but this year, I am defiantly in the spirit. I have just about all my shopping done, which makes it even nicer!
Hope you are healthy and happy!

Wildlife
We went to a wildlife museum yesterday. It was pretty neat seeing the animals, even if they were stuffed. I couldn't believe how big some of the bears where. It was pretty neat to see the lions and leopards. The had all kinds of the deer, elk, buffalo, you name it they had it. I love the cats and I took lots of pictures of the cats. Hope you had a great weekend. I will post a couple more pictures tomorrow.
