Leaving

Decided that gathering up the leaves and burning them before the windy storm came in was better than having the leaves blown all over kingdom come!  The storm wasn't quite as bad as it could of been.  We did keep our electricity and no major problems.  The hubby spent two days caulking the windows and it sure helped.  Could not believe the difference in the drafts and the noise.  Warmer house and less noise.   Son's school was cancelled and mine was delayed for 4 hours and of course I had morning classes so, I don't have school either!   Hope you all have a great day.

Have a seat!

On our travels we happened upon quite a few of these Adirondack chairs on the side of some of the tourist attraction sites.   I love it when they are painted up.  Just a little big for me.  I should of sat in one and had the hubby take a picture, then you could of been able to  tell how big these things really are.

Have a great day.

Buddies?

Jake loves to play and the kitten for the most part loves to play with Jake and Jake's  tail.   The only thing is that Jake doesn't realize that the kitten is just a little bit smaller than he is and the kitten will come away all sopping wet from Jake grabbing her.   Now most of the time you will see the kitten sleeping next to Jake.   The dog, RJ, forget it.  No way NO how is that dog going to get along with her.   That is a heeler for you.  My blue that I had hated cats and you didn't even think about having a cat in the house or any where near the house because they would come up missing!

Hope you all have a great day.

Sunday Stills ...What inspires me.

This is my number one inspiration, if it wasn't for my other half I wouldn't be the person I am today.  When I met him I was one of those people that was afraid of her own shadow and if someone hurt my feelings I would start with the water works.   He pushed and prodded until I got out of that habit!   He pushes me to be the best I can be at whatever I decide to do.  Even though he complains about school taking up a lot of time, he is the one that pushed me to go for a college degree and stands behind me on what ever I decide to do.    We are not only a married couple but we are the best of friends and without him, I would not be where I am today.   Thank you, to my inspiration and the love of my life!  I wouldn't trade him for all the money in the world.

Hope you all have a great and inspiring day!

We still have some color, but this is going to be the last weekend of it.  The leaves are falling pretty fast.  The top picture didn't come out as well as I wanted it too.  There was this clear spot and only spot out of the whole sky that I could see.  Hope you all have a great day. Not all that good of pictures, took them through the windshield while driving.  I know safety, but I did stop real fast before taking them ;)

WATCH OUT!

The son came up with a new driver for the tractor.  I have to say that I am glad the tractor doesn't run without someone towing!   Hope you all have a great weekend!  I am glad that the weekend is here!

School is going ok, could be better, the Business Law class is tough!  I am defiantly getting a brush up on the constitution after not seeing it since eighth grade!

Hope you all have a great day or evening where ever you may be!

We went to the hubbies sister's over the weekend and decided to take the back way and take some roads that we had never been on.  It was adventure, as you can see the road was aptly named!  It was a seasonal road (or path way) that had the mountain on one side and the canyon on the other side, needless to say it was for one car at a time and you sure didn't want to go off the road!

Not much else is really happening.   Still working on wood for the winter, the guys have been diligently to get the wood sawn, split and stacked!  They had help this weekend and got quite a bit of it done!

Hope you all had a great day.

Adirondack Park Facts

Here are a few more pictures taken on our road trip Sunday.  If you don't know these are the Adirondack Mountains.  The Adirondack Park is about 6.1 million acres here in New York.  There are no marked boundaries or gate or any fees to enter the park.  The Adirondack Park is larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier, Grand Canyon and the Great Smokies combined.  It is the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi.   42 percent of the park is protected by the state constitution as forever wild, which is 2.6 million acres.

Hope you all had a great day.

Just try to get me down!

We let the kitten loose in the kitchen and we have two scratch posts and decided to put one in the kitchen for the kitten.  As you can see she just loves her post!  I think she feels like she is coming up in the world and is letting the dogs know it!  The dogs which you can't see in the picture are in the other room behind a child gate looking at the kitten just waiting to get the chance to play ;)

Hope you all have a great day.  It is time for me to get back to some school work.

Sunday Stills (roads)

The hubby and I decided to take the day off and go up into the Adirondack Mountains to see the fall colors but a lot of the red was gone and just yellow's were left.  It still was a nice day to go for a drive and we did see some beautiful country!   Hope you all had a great weekend and I will post more of the mountains tomorrow!

Have a great night.

Not again!

Yes, the husband has talked me into letting kittens into the house again!  The only thing is they are not going to be house cats!  I said that they could come into the house so that the son and hubby can make the kittens person friendly instead of being wild!  Then they go back outside permanently!  Hopefully we can talk a friend of ours into taking the black one asap!  Come on Miss Shannon, the black one is just so adorable, you know you want a kitty cat!

Raining again, we have only had one day of sun shine and nice weather, I sure wish I could send some of this rain to you that are having draught conditions!

Lots of homework for the weekend and my first set of test to take next week.  I am glad to have a four day weekend to get the work done.  I worked on homework all day today, along with doing housework and laundry.  I think the hubby and I are going to take a day to go see the fall colors up north this weekend.  Other than that, that is about all we are going to do.  Oops forgot the hubby and the son will be doing fire wood!

The son took his driving test Wednesday and passed, now he has his license and I don't have to be chauffeur anymore!

Have a great weekend.

I don't take a whole lot of pictures of the horses and I thought it was about time that I get them put back on to the blog once in a while.  This is Annie and she is the horse that is lazy and hates to do anything.  I ride her one day and the next she is trying to avoid me at all cost, that of course is all my fault because I don't take the time to ride as often as I should.

School is going good, I thought with taking less classes this year I would have time to do my homework, but that hasn't really come about because I seem to do a ton of errands.    The days I go in late seem to leave me some time but some days like tomorrow, I have to take the son to take his driving test for his drivers license.  That will pretty much ruin the time I have to do homework.  I do have good news, I got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that I was invited to join the honor society "Phi Theta Kappa"!   I also could of done honor classes also, but I did turn that down.  I didn't really want to add more work to my already busy life.

Hope you all had a great day.

As you can see the cooker worked fantastically!  The chef did a great job with the pork.  All I did was make the rub and the BBQ sauce, Matt did all the cooking and he did a great job, it was a hit and we maybe having a side job next summer doing parties, who knows!

We were up by 3:50 and had the pork on the grill by 5:30, then the hubby made us breakfast on the grill.  The bride and bridegroom joined us.  It started out being a pretty drizzly day and not a nice day but the weather was the only problem the rest of the wedding was just a beautiful affair!   I was lucky enough to be asked to fill in for one of the bridesmaids that couldn't make it!

We were pretty tired by Saturday night and then Sunday was clean up day and trying to get some stuff done at the farm.  I got all my house plants brought into the house and the hubby and son got the wood stove going for the first time this year.

Hope you all have a great day.
