Sunday Stills (creepy things)
Not one of my favorite things to capture on the camera. I hate spiders, I would rather have a snake than any spider! (or bug for that matter) I had tons of garden spiders earlier in the season. I think that they are just as creepy but they at least have some nice color to them!
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Morning
It is a fogging morning this morning. I love to see the fog with the animals silhouetted against the background. I will be taking those pictures this morning. This is the sunset from the other day. I am starting to enjoy the colors that are starting to emerge on the trees. The hubby and I are going to take a trip up into the mountains, either this weekend or next, just to go see some of the wonderful colors.
I really love this time of year. It isn't all that hot and not really cold. Just the right temperature to be comfortable in. You can clean stalls, do hay, and wood without breaking out in a heavy duty sweat.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Horse World
From these pictures the horses and ponies sure look scruffy, but they aren't. They are really in pretty darn good shape, the ponies are looking a whole lot better than when we first got them. I was too lazy to get good pictures.
Homework like usual, takes up a lot of my time. Just a few more months and it will be all done. The hubby is waiting for that day to come! I will be graduating in December but the commencements are done in May. I will be waiting for that day. Hate to say it, but I am pretty darn proud of myself. Now all I have to do is get my weaving up and going and things will be good.
Hope everyone is having a great week, weekend is almost here!

What we love!
I really don't have a whole lot to blog about. I found this random picture that I had taken a few weeks ago. The hubby had all his stickers on the truck and I decided that I had to add one of my own! If you all don't know by now the hubby isn't all that big on horses but he let me put my horsey sticker on the window! Nice of him wasn't it ;-) As you can see we are passionate about our gun rights and the hubby loves his International tractor (like the rest of his family).
We are having a good round of days with no rain and fantastic weather. The hubby mowed down the second cutting of hay this weekend. I just went out to the field to check on how it is drying. The hubby will be glad to know that when he gets home the hay will be ready to rake and bale! No rain in the forecast until later in the day on Sunday!
Hope you are having a great week.

Its only Tuesday!
Very neat moth the son found when he was covering plants from the frost.
Just another day and school for both the son and I. Other than that, not much is new here on the farm. The ponies are doing good. The mule likes to be very "mule-ish" towards the Shetland. We were keeping them in the same stall and the mule was kicking the holy heck out of the other pony. So, we ended up having to separate them during feeding time.
Fall is here, the leaves are starting to turn colors. Cool weather has arrived, but still pretty darn nice. It is supposed to get up in the low 70's this week. We had a couple of frost advisories this past week, that is why the son was covering plants!

Breakfast anyone?
I think one of my favorite meals is my oven omelet in my cast iron. It is a favorite of the families. We have company coming this weekend, I think I will be making it again soon.
Not much going on, we put up some pear jam this weekend, and we still have lots of pears left. We are going to can the rest of the pears that we have, if I can get the time to do it. The son and hubby mowed down the second cutting of hay and it is supposed to be a wonderful week for drying it. This weekend we will hopefully be baling and putting it in the barn. Still have lots of things to accomplish before the winter season starts. Wood cutting, basement finished, equipment put up for the winter, house yards cleaned of garbage and excess debris. Never ending things to get done before snow flies. Yes, it is coming whether we want it to or not!
Have a great evening.

Hello
Not much going on except for homework and trying to get a routine going now that I am back in school. It has been hard getting that routine in place. I sit down at the table and the next thing I know, 2 or more hours have gone by. I even bought myself a timer so that I get up off the chair and move around some.
The ponies are settling in pretty good. I didn't think so a few days ago, the pony has been crowding me and I don't put up with that. I went into the stall to give them their grain and the pony decided that he was going to try to run over me. I had the "carrot stick" it is actually called that, I used it to keep him back, I went to bend over and feed him and he lifted his head at the same time I came down and head butted me and needless to say I now have shiner! My eye looks pretty! Nothing like going to school with a black eye! (no I did not take a picture)
The weather is starting to turn a little colder now, we have had a couple of days get down in the 30's at night.
I will try to get to all your blogs and see what you are up too, soon. In the mean time, take care and I will catch up soon!

As you can see, the little guys need some groceries! They are settling in pretty good here at the farm. I am really glad to see the hubby take a liking to the mule. I will let him play with Thunder.
I have found a young man to put some miles on Sirocco for me. I am glad to get someone that will not charge me an arm and a leg to do it. Sirocco just needs someone to put lots of miles in the saddle on him. I don't know if we will get to it this fall but hopefully next year it will be able to happen.
The weather has been pretty darn warm here for the last couple of days but by tomorrow the highs are supposed to be only in the sixties! I think fall has arrived.
Hope everyone is good and have a wonderful evening or day, depending where you are located!

Mmmmm Food
We are now ready for the winter months. The only thing left to do is can our sauerkraut in about three weeks. The hubby did the broccoli, cauliflower, and even canned 21 quarts of tomatoes! It was a community effort when the corn and green peppers were done. Our freezers are now full with meat and veggies!
It has been a pretty hectic couple of weeks, with the new ponies and starting school. I have lots of homework (as usual), and the ponies are doing good, and will be better when we can get them up from being skinny to having a little meat on their bones.
As you all know, when school is in session, the blogging kind of gets put on the back burner a little bit. I will try to post as often as I can. Hope you are having a good week.

Sunday Stills (head shots)
We went and got the new additions to the farm. A miniature mule "Thunder" and a shetland pony "Scout", both were free, because the family that had them, had to get rid of them. They need lots of love and tender loving care. The hubby finally found his partner, the mule! They both go together real well, stubborn!!!
I had to include the picture of the son, he was acting silly, (a regular occurrence).
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Let's Rumble
We had some impressive storm clouds the other day. Didn't produce a really bad storm, just a quick downpour and a little bit of high winds.
School has started and I think it is going to be an enjoyable semester.
Hope you are having a good week.

Anvil
The hubby bought an anvil from his dad yesterday and the son and him cut a piece of log and started to carve the top to set the anvil down in the log. Now they have a wonderful stand and they are all ready to start to do some blacksmith. I think I better start making up a honey do list ;-)
Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

I got the four legged variety and the two legged variety! Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.
